For the current crew of 11-18yr olds that we work with the question raised above by them or their parents is a distant memory. For the prospective parents/children that are choosing to work with us, this question often comes up, and we get it completely. Hopefully the infographic goes some way to explaining it. Whilst we support sports participation completely, if you actually compared a structured youth development program that’s coached at a high level to most sports, you’d see that the physical demands, environment and volume often outweigh the six hours of training a month that we expect from the kids we work with.
